This was the Dogs' debut single, released in 1982, and the only release for the band billed as 'Charlie Harper's Urban Dogs' Recorded at Silo and engineered by Nick Cook, this three track single featured two Harper originals, plus a cover of the Rock 'N' Roll classic 'Cocaine', written by the Rev. Gary Davis. It is unclear as to whether the title New Barbarians was lifted from the text of Garry Bushall's 5-star Sounds review of Crash Course?
The picture on the front cover is of a 100 Club regular 'Dragon Tim' who's now a Guru in India.
