The following news story appeared on the T&M homepage:

  • SUBS PLAY FREE GIG AFTER FESTIVAL CANCELLED

The UK Subs played a free gig at the Milton Arms in Portsmouth on Saturday 16th June, which was set up as an alternative to the cancelled 'Punk By The Sea' Festival in nearby Southsea. The Subs had been scheduled to play at that Festival. Huge congratulations goes out to all the organisers who, in the true punk DIY spirit, created a positive out of such a negative... Jamie Oliver also played with his side-project band Sci-Fi Mafia on the Sunday as the free alternative venue continued to salvage what could have been a completely disastrous weekend for the 'punk scene'. Ex-Sub Pete Davies also made an appearance with The Straps on the Saturday. Thanks also to Tom Ak from dragSTER for standing in on bass for the Subs at short notice.
