The following news story appeared on the T&M homepage:
Leeds based artist Paul Hannah (left) has produced a superb cartoon of Charlie (right) for his extremely popular "Big 'Ed" portraits series.
They are now available for purchase, and would look amazing on any Subs fan's wall!
Paul told T&M that he has "been painting since I was a teenager. I do mainly portraits in varying styles. I am completely self taught and am currently interested in mashing portraits and tessellations together. My fun thing is my "Big 'Ed" portraits. I just love to draw portraits of the people and bands that I go to see."
Born and bred in Leeds, Paul enthused that he "saw many of the first wave of punk bands in the late 70s. Got married and had kids in the 80s and lost touch with the undergound music scene. Then my son picked up a guitar at 16 and made me listen to a lot of the American punk bands. Suddenly I got interested again. I now host the Punk Britannia podcast on punkrockdemo.com and studsandpunks.com twice or three times per month, which focuses on new music from the underground, unsigned, punk, ska, oi! and hardcore scenes in the UK."
Paul does commissions and you can e-mail him or message him via his Facebook site 'Punk Britannia Art' where you can see many of his great pieces of art in his Facebook photo albums.
Below are two photos of Paul in his gallery. On the left you can see Paul holding a framed A2 size print of Charlie (with the original A4 drawing on the wall in the background), and on the right is Paul with his John Lydon picture. Click the images to enlarge.
Prices are inclusive of postage and packing to the UK.
