The Urban Dogs' second single 'Limo Life', released in 1983, is generally regarded to be the final 7" single from the band, unless you count this little known single, the 'flicknife' sampler E.P. which came out in 1989 to promote "existing or forthcoming releases" on the Flicknife Records label.
The inclusion of Monster Mash, the fourth track from the Dogs' second long-player No Pedigree, released some four years earlier seems a rather bizarre choice to say the least, firstly, as it is by far not the greatest Urban Dogs track to choose to promote the band, and secondly, it is a cover version as well... when you consider that the person(s) who put this nice little promo 7" together could have used some far stronger tracks from the Harper/Knox stable, then the more you look at it the more strange it seems. Maybe it was a favourite song of the compiler, or just a lazy (well known song) choice, or it could even have been included as a bit of fun! Whatever the reason, it certainly makes a good collectors' item...

Flicknife Records was started in 1979 by Frenchy Gloder who quickly built the label up into one of the 80s' leading independent companies with releases by the likes of Hawkwind, Alien Sex Fiend, The Saints, Erazerhead, Nico, and The Barracudas.
